Eveline Westerly has always been the bad guy. i’m excited to see what the author does next. From BookTok sensation Emily McIntire comes a dark and delicious fractured fairy tale reimagining of The Wizard of Oz. i’m eager to read the next installment when it comes out. i found them cringy and awkward.Īs a whole though, i enjoyed this book. I also didn’t really like the poetry scenes. i’m sure there’s readers out there who’d love it, but it wasn’t for me. the author explored some kinky stuff, which didn’t work for me. it was the perfect amount.Īs for the things i didn’t like, i found the spice got weird. i didn’t find it lacked in history nor was it a pile of info dumping. i loved the setting and all the backstory we got. While being fast paced, the author didn’t skimp on any of the important world building. i prefer a fast paced/action packed book, and this was right up my alley. scarred was relatively slow compared to hooked and wretched. i thought it was refreshing and interesting.Īnother positive i had with this book was the fast paced nature.
